Hello Kitty Birthday Card

Hello!  Another weekend of crafting!  I am feeling so bad that I forgot about my niece's birthday, so I knew I had to create something special and I really hope that she likes it!  I put together this Hello Kitty card that I created with an SVG that I found online and had for about 6 months and knew that I would use it someday!  Well that day has arrived!  Instead of the solid colors for the dress and bow I thought that I would use a print that I had in my stash.  Granted I have 2 boys and hardly ever create girl layouts and cards but I do have some pretty things as you never know when it is needed.

This card is about 9.5 inches tall and 8.25 inches wide-due to the whiskers and I don't have an envelope that big!  So I got out my MS score board and made my own-after watching on youtube how to do it.  It really isn't that hard!  I will probably put this envelope in a Manilla envelope as I don't want it to get ruined.

Let me know what you think and thanks for dropping by!

And here is the gigantic envelope that I made.  It looked so plain that I decided to bling it up!

Halloween Fever!!!!

Okay, so hopping along everyone's blog got me in the Halloween Fever!!!! I just had to do something Halloween even though it is more than a month away!!! I asked my son if he wanted to make Halloween cards and instantly he said sure and he wanted to do it himself!
Well, looking at the Happy Hauntings cartridge he really didn't like much except for the skelton and he cut it and put it all together by himself. This is a first guys as he thought all I do it scrapbook/layouts. He did a great job and made two of them. So we had to decide what to put with it and I tell you I had no Halloween paper (well four sheets) so I ran out to Michaels and Joanns and made some purchases. Then we cut out the tombstone for the card. Love the caption M.T. Tomb (empty tomb) at first my son didn't understand and to tell all of you I didn't either at first.
For the background of the card, I have to say that I scraplifted from Creating with Christina's youtube video for the Happy Hauntings card found herehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xd-BZbw2xU&feature=fvsr. Gee whiz I used to be able to highlight the word then add a link, don't know why it doesn't work anymore? Anyhoo, I liked her card so much that I made the witch from Happy Hauntings also.
I also made a cute favor box that Shery K Designs was sharing on her site which I made with Halloween paper instead of the printable that is offered with it. Here is the link: http://www.sherykdesigns-blog.com/2011/09/free-svg-printable-favors-gift-box.html?utm_source=http%3A%2F%2Fskhedrdesigns.blogspot.com%2Ffeeds%2Fposts%2Fdefault%3Falt%3Drss&utm_medium=SKhedr+Designsemail You know I really don't like all this linkage run ons! Someone please help me, I really don't like blogger anymore. This is the first time that I made a box and I have to say it wasn't too bad. But I really had no idea how to put it together at first.
Well, Happy Halloween everyone and thanks for stopping by!!!

Deja Views' Page Layout

I know it has been a while on the posting and been having a hard time adjusting to the boy's new school schedule, school bus, new after school care, and being sick for the past 2 weeks after returning home from vacationing in Colorado! I really loved going there for a first time and would recommend it to anyone. The weather is beautiful and the mountains are awesome to see! I just finished a layout of my oldest son when he was born. This will be the first page in his album and I wanted to make sure it was extra special. This is the first time that I used a layout sketch and I just can't seem to find it now. I hate it when that happens! Anyhoo, the paper is from a stack that I got at Joanns on clearance called The Sharon Ann little ones collection. It has all these vellum sheets and cardstock embellishments to go along with the paper and all I had to do is add some glossy accents, buttons and twine!
Really had a hard time leaving some blank space on the left side but hopefully all the embellishments on the right draws the eye to the picture. "Sprout" is the name that we use as an endearment nickname and at times I still call him that even though he is going on 12 years old next month. Thanks for dropping by and I promise to try to post more often!
Happy Scrapping!

Anniversary Card

Hello everyone! Gosh, I can't believe that I have not posted this card that I made for my parent's anniversary of48 years! I really didn't want to have something to fussy and was going for elegant. Don't have much time to do that while putting my boy's scrapbooks together. I hope to post some pages soon for you on those. The paper I used had a really nice verse on it and I really don't know who makes it. I just want to say that there are some really nice people out here in blog land and I have been touched with many RAK that is so unbelieveable. Thank you everyone! Oops, I am rambling....on with the card. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby ribbon packs, the flower is a lace trim that my Mom gave me, and the stamp is from the dollar bin from Joanns. Hope you like and I promise to post some more soon!

Don't know why I would ever want to do this? But thanks to Leelou blogs they took a look at it and now everything is fixed! I am so excited and sorry about the trouble that all of you have been having. Now I will be back to posting!

Thanks!

Father's Day Cards

Ok, so it has been a long time since I posted and I am really sorry for that. I got a new camera and am trying to figure out all of this stuff. Well, here it goes! I made a Father's Day card for my Dad and my hubby (from our precious canine) as my Mom had my boys and they made theirs at their Grandparent's house. I came across this neat digi paper for Father's Day and decided I just had to use it for my Dad's card! Sorry, can't remember where I got it from but it is a wonderful download. I printed it on photo paper so I could get a better print. I have to tell you I found these banner stamps at Archivers and they are just great except it is very tedious to cut all these out free hand. Needless to say my Dad liked his card as he was reading all the words from the paper.

Now, for my hubby's card, I used a recent picture of our family princess, our precious Abigail/Abby! She couldn't rest until I finished this card for her as she just adores her Dad! Needless to say it was a hit and my Hubby loved it!

Thanks for stopping by! I really enjoy your comments and I promise to post more tomorrow! I made a birthday card for my FIL as his birthday is July 1st!

Off Topic-Met Tim Tebow

Today was a beautiful day outside and I was fortunate to spend it with my fellow employees in the Jockey International Park to meet with our new spokesman Tim Tebow. This young man really has his act together and is a wonderful humanitarian. His foundation is helping our orphaned kids down in the Phillipeans by supplying them with items that they need. His foundation has already started to build a hospital down there for them.

When asked the question: "If you could meet anyone in the world and who would it be?" He answered, "Jesus, of course! Doesn't everyone?" His second choice is Abraham Lincoln, since he was a man of integrity and honesty. I would just love to pick his brain." I just have to say that we could not have picked a better person to represent our company! Below are a few picture and I am in the pink shirt standing next to him.

Jockey is so passiate about helping the adoptive children here in the US. We currently are working with a few groups with Post Adoption Services. Employees, volunteers, girl scouts are even helping out with making no sew fleece blankets for the kid's back packs. I am an Embassador on the Jockey Being Family Team and it really touches my heart for all the things a child has to go through before being adopted. These children are fighters but mostly the are just looking for a forever family.

I would like to start up a group of people to start making cards for these family to embrace their forever family and remember just how important it is to this child to make things works. Thanks for letting me rave, Enjoy the pictures!

Finished the Mini Book!

Okay, for those who have been followers for a while know that I started this mini book back in January. I won this at my first blog hop from Kris at What a Bunch of Craft and have also added some of Celeste's (Touched by a Butterfly) wonderful flowers! I just love how this turned out and had a hard time parting with it as I gave it to my Mom for Mother's Day and she just loves it! Please leave me some comments as I would love to hear how you like it or not.

Mother's Day Card

Wow, two posts in one day! Sorry about not posting lately but things are kind of hectic lately! I am now all caught up with all my blogs and email that I finally have time to post my Mother's day card that I made for my Mom. I got these beautiful "MOM" stickers from a blog win and shopping with Ann at Paper Patch Crafts. She added this to my selection and it was perfect for the paper that I had!

I forgot to put a picture of the inside but there is a poem that I was just right to describe my relationship with my Mom. Here it is:
When I was young, you helped me grow,
And taught me all I had to know
Of love and trust and faith and hope,
And everything it takes to cope.
You may have thought I didn't hear,
Or maybe that you weren't quite clear;
But all the tings you taught me
Were heeded very carefully,
And now I want to thank you for
Your love, your care, and so much more!
Love you Mom and thanks for being there!

Congrats on Your New House Card

Well my husband went to San Diego for four days to his cousin's house warming party and even asked me to make a card.  After a long search I used svgcuts.com and found this house to cut with SCAL.  I really like how it turned out but wish I would have found some bushes or something to add to the front like some mini flowers or something.  Inside I used my Kaisercraft stamp for the flourishes which I won from a hop shopping at Paper Patch Crafts.  Can I just say that shopping with Ann was such a great pleasure!  My next post is some of the extras that she added to my stash.  Thanks for dropping by and have a great day!

Another Boy Birthday Card

Ok, I made another birthday card for my 17 year old nephew which is really hard since I couldn't get too cutesy! I hope that he liked it because I really struggled with this one! I got the Frog from SVGCuts.com and it cut really good! I am really happy with the frog! The "Hoppy Birthday" I created in SCAL. The plaid paper is really from a Christmas stack as I think these colors really "age" up the card for an older boy. I stitched around the sentiment because I really shouldn't have used my distress ink on these as it made it blend in with the background. I just love the buttons for the eyes and it gives the frog more dimensions. I am finding that I love ribbon/twine and buttons on all my projects now! The inside stamp I got from Michaels and is a cling stamp-I really like these! I am going to have to find more!!!

Easter Card

Wow, it's been a long time since I have posted anything. But that doesn't mean that I haven't really been doing anything. In March, I went to my first retreat up in Portage, WI and meet the most wonderful 7 people. I can say that I willing be doing this again in October and can't wait that long. I have learned so many things and will post scrapbook layouts at a later date once I add some journaling. On to my Easter card, I got the peeps image from Cheryl at Cafe Expressions, just click here to see her wonderful creations. I finished these Sunday night and forgot to take them with me to work to mail and mailed them later that night and just remembered that I forgot to sign the cards! Well, at least they can reuse the card and pass it on to someone! Next time I make a card with flowers I will make sure that they are not in the same place inside and outside the card! Let's just say the envelope was tight fitting on the left side. Enjoy looking at my card and I hope to post more soon as I am just figuring out my new computer!

I just wanted to add that the flowers were from a blog hop that I won that was a gift to a online store Ebay store called Paper Patch Crafts. It was a pleasure working with Anne on my purchase and she even threw in lots of extras! Thanks Anne! I am sure that I will find a way to use everything. The diagonal striped paper is glittery and is from a mat stack that I got from Joann's, the ribbon is also from Joann's and the stamp is from the dollar bin at Michael's! I just love finding treasures!
